Community & conduct guidelines

Samia Venue works best when everyone plays their part: clients give accurate details and behave well, venues keep their space and service right and set clear house rules, and Samia runs the platform and stands behind it. Here's what that looks like.

What we expect from everyone

Samia Venue works when everyone plays their part honestly. That means being truthful, being respectful, and keeping the booking on the platform where we can support both sides. These guidelines form part of our Terms of Service.

Everyone owns their part

Samia runs the platform, holds your payment securely, verifies venues, and protects your data. The venue owns the space, the service, and its house rules. You, the client, own your details and your conduct. These guidelines spell out what that means day to day.

If you’re a client

Your part is your details and your conduct:

  • Give accurate booking information — the real date, guest count, and event details.
  • Pay on time through the platform.
  • Take responsibility for the behaviour of you and your guests on the day.
  • Follow the venue’s house rules, which you accept when you book.
  • Treat the space with care and avoid damage.
  • Use the venue lawfully.

If you’re a venue

Your part is the space and the service:

  • Keep your listing accurate — photos, capacity, price, amenities, and features.
  • Keep the space in good condition: clean, safe, and with working facilities like power, water, and air conditioning.
  • Hold the licences, permits, and insurance your venue needs.
  • Honour confirmed bookings.
  • Deliver the service you listed on the day.
  • Set clear, fair house rules and apply them consistently.

Our part

Samia keeps the platform running, holds your payment securely, verifies every venue before it goes live, coordinates the booking in good faith, protects your personal data, and handles support and disputes. We stand behind these — if we fall short on our part, we own it.

House rules

Each venue sets its own house rules — things like conduct, noise, décor, outside catering, timing, and damage terms. Samia surfaces those rules to you before you commit, but does not write them. When you book, you accept that venue’s house rules, and they apply to your event. If a rule is unclear, ask us before you book.

Keep communication on Samia

Samia is a managed marketplace: clients and venues communicate through us, and contact details aren’t shared between the two sides. Keep your booking conversation on the platform. It’s how we can help if something goes wrong, and it keeps everyone’s details private. See our Privacy Policy for how that works.

What’s not allowed

  • Harassment, threats, discrimination, or abusive behaviour toward anyone.
  • Misrepresenting who you are, your venue, your event, or your listing.
  • Taking a confirmed booking off the platform, or asking the other side to.
  • Fake or retaliatory reviews, or reviews not based on a real booking.
  • Any unlawful use of the platform or a venue.

Reporting and enforcement

If someone breaks these guidelines, contact Samia and we’ll look into it. Depending on what happened, we may warn, remove content, suspend, or remove an account. If a problem concerns a specific booking — the service, condition, or money — raise it through our Dispute Resolution Policy, and we’ll handle it there.
