Questions to Ask Before Booking a Hall

What is the actual maximum capacity for the layout I want? A venue's overall capacity and its capacity for a specific layout (seated dinner vs. standing reception, for example) can be very different — ask for the number that matches your actual plan.

What's included, and what isn't? Sound systems, parking, backup power, security — some venues include these, others don't, and 'typically included' varies hall to hall. Get the real list before assuming anything is covered.

Is my date genuinely available, or just 'probably'? A soft verbal 'should be fine' is not the same as a confirmed booking on a specific date. Insist on a real confirmation, not an assumption.

What happens if my plans change? Ask about the cancellation terms before you need them, not after. A clear, fair cancellation window — not a vague 'we'll figure it out' — protects both sides.

When and how do I actually pay? A venue that wants full payment far in advance carries more risk than a platform-secured booking: a 50% advance at confirmation and the remaining 50% shortly before the event, held in escrow and released to the venue only after your event takes place.
